Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation, whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285
St. Bernard's: Confirmation preparation starts in the 9th grade. The Confirmation students participate in small groups that meet in parishioners homes once a month. This is such a neat experience for the students as they get to talk about their faith outside of church. This also allows for smaller class sizes and for more sharing. The Confirmation class is also involved in an overnight retreat, service projects, and participating in the Mass.
