This is a newer faith formation process that focuses on the whole parish community. It is an intergenerational learning experience that provides a solid foundation for life long faith formation. The Generations of Faith process is a giant step forward in religious education that will gently nurture peoples' minds and hearts in the wisdom of the Catholic faith so that who they are and how they live is deeply influenced by what they "know", enabling them to:
•Engage in more meaningful participation in the church liturgies and events,
•Reflect on the significance of these events and,
•Apply Catholic teachings to daily life.
We envision strengthened Catholic individuals, families and community as the outcome of this way of experiencing faith. Our parish's goals in implementing this vision are to:
1. Transform the focus on children-only, text-book-and-classroom experience to an ongoing,
lifelong experience that forms disciples, informs the heart and mind in the ways of the
Church and transform the world according to God's plan.
2. Facilitate all generations in lifelong learning, connected together, through mutual
involvement in the events of church life.
3. Focus on faith formation both in the parish community and in the homes, the domestic
Church.
4. Bring together all ministries of the Church in the mission of faith formation.
Generations of Faith is for everyone: singles, couples, children, college students, teenagers, parents, grandparents, interfaith families, single-parent families, retired people-all parishioners!
We'll follow the Church calendar of events of Christ's life and traditions that have built our Catholic faith. Each year we will change the focus and highlight different celebrations. We gather quarterly to share a meal followed by faith sessions for all ages.
We encourage you to consider participating in one of the various ministries of service available as part of the program. This is a great way to use your God-given talents to help others, meet people with similar interests and grow in your faith.
